CENTRAL - The countdown has begun for the unveiling of the inaugural ALDI store in the Capital Area, as finishing touches are applied to the establishment set to debut by the end of this month.
Scheduled for August 30, a soft opening event has been announced for the ALDI situated on Grand Settlement Blvd. at Sullivan, nestled within the confines of the Settlement at Shoe Creek in Central. Following suit, the official commencement is planned for the ensuing day.
Over the summer, the store conducted a recruitment drive, solidifying its workforce for operations. This location is just one among a trio currently under construction in the Baton Rouge vicinity. The other two sites are located on the 2300 block of O'Neal Lane and at the crossroads of Siegen Lane and North Rieger Road.
In a strategic expansion move, ALDI is augmenting its presence within Louisiana with these new additions. The state's existing retail landscape boasts a mere seven operational ALDI stores, marking a figure lower than that of any other state in the Southern United States.
Prominently recognized for its budget-friendly merchandise, many of which bear the company's proprietary branding, ALDI specializes in more compact store formats compared to industry giants like Rouses, Albertsons, Hi Nabor, and Winn-Dixie.
