BATON ROUGE, La. – Splash pads will reopen to the public on Monday, June 22 and can be found at City-Brooks Community Park, Forest Community Park, Greenwood Community Park, Highland Road Community Park, North Sherwood Forest Community Park and Zachary Community Park. The hours of operations will be split into sessions to allow time for cleaning and sanitizing the aquatic equipment and surrounding areas. Session one will be from noon to 2:30 p.m. and Session two from 4 to 6:30 p.m. daily. Capacity will be a max of 40 children for all splash pads and all guests must continue to follow the CDC guidelines for physical distancing.
The City-Brooks and Anna T. Jordan Community Pools are now open to the public Tuesday through Sunday at a 50% capacity. The hours of operation are broken into sessions to allow time for cleaning and sanitation between groups. Session one will be from noon to 2 p.m. and Sessions two from 3 to 5 p.m. All guests 18 years of age and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian over the age of 18 who must remain inside the facility during the time of use.
BREC is continuing to move forward in stage two of its phased reopening plan which now includes the reopening of community pools and splash pads. Under the current limitations and recommendations set forth by the CDC and the Governor, BREC will offer multiple timeslots of daily operations from both splash pads and community pools to help promote capacity and mitigation standards.
