Baker, Louisiana - In the latest round of municipal elections on March 23rd, residents of Baker reaffirmed their trust in incumbent leadership, with Mayor Darnell "DA 1" Waites and Chief of Police Carl K. Dunn securing re-election.


The Louisiana Secretary of State's office reported the victory of Waites as Mayor and Dunn as Chief of Police, reflecting the community's endorsement of their continued stewardship.

Competing alongside Waites in the mayoral race were Doris Alexander, Brenda G. Jackson, Denise Stevenson, while Dunn faced opposition from Willie Brooks III in the Chief of Police race.


Further election results saw Rochelle Dunn elected as the District 2 Council Member, Desiree Collins as the District 3 Council Member, and a runoff election scheduled between Toni Jackson and Robert Young for the District 4 Council Member position.


These outcomes underscore the dynamic political landscape of Baker, blending continuity with the infusion of fresh perspectives into local governance.
