Jagaurs Season Come To An End In The SWAC Championship Game

JACKSON, MS -- Despite starting slow on the offensive side of the ball, the Jaguars fell to a 26-0 deficit in the first quarter and were never able to recover, falling to Jackson State 43-24 in the 2022 Cricket Wireless Football Championship Game inside Mississippi Veterans Memorial Stadium in front of 53,754 fans. Southerns' quarterback Glendon McDaniel went 15-of-34 for 220 yards and a 34-yard TD toss to Chandler Whitfield. McDaniel led the Jags in rushing, with 172 yards off 20 carries and two scores to close out his stellar career at Southern University, accounting for 392 yards of total offense. Ed Magee had a career-high night for the Jags with 68 yards off three catches. The Jag's defense played solid all game, led by junior cornerback Kriston Davis with 13 tackles and one pass breakup. Junior linebacker Jalan Campbell closed out the night with eight tackles. Senior safety Corione Harris finished the night with eight and 0.5 tackles for a four-yard loss. The Jaguars say goodbye to 19 seniors on Saturday night, which has played a vital part in team success this season.
