Linda B. Perkins is a candidate for Baker School Board Member, District #1. She has lived in Baker, Louisiana for forty-five years. She has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business from Southern University-Baton Rouge. From her thirty-eight years in Corporate America (AT&T, South Central Bell, and BellSouth) to her resolute and selfless community service, she pledges to always act in the best interests of the community.
Linda is a Member-City of Baker Foundation Committee; President-Louisiana Lupus Foundation; Member-Attic Trash & Tresure Charitable Organization; Member-ExxonMobil Community Dialogue Group; Vice President-Capitol Area Transit System (CATS); Member-Leadership Greater Baton Rouge Alumni; Alumni-100 Black Women of Greater Baton Rouge.
Linda is eager to help move the Baker School System forward in a positive direction by PUTTING STUDENTS FIRST. She is ready to restore honor and accountability to District #1 and encourages all work together for the enrichment and improvement of the Baker community.
Perkins states, “For too long the Baker School System has failed our students. It is not about me; it is about the people we serve and the educational system that needs to strengthen in order to support students’ and teachers’ needs.”
