OSJL’s philanthropic partner’s warehouse hit hard by recent tornado; delivery will help replace lost items, including Christmas gifts for children in need
A tornado affected the warehouse of Ocean State Job Lot (OSJL) philanthropic partner, the Louisiana Cajun Navy (LCN), where the organization was storing a variety of products to support tornadoes and hurricane victims, including Christmas gifts for children in need. Many areas are experiencing unseasonably cold weather in the state of Louisiana, down to freezing temperatures, which makes communities particularly vulnerable.
LCN's mission is "to help the people who can't get help, not only in the wake of disaster, but in everyday life." The organization is operated by kindhearted volunteers who "rescue, relieve and rebuild" when the community needs help. OSJL previously partnered with LCN volunteers to distribute much-needed supplies during the aftermath of Hurricane Ian.
Now, OSJL is stepping up to provide aid to the LCN by sending a tractor-trailer truck filled with warm blankets, winter coats, toys and dolls to Baton Rouge, Louisiana on Monday, December 19. The truck arrived in Louisiana on Wednesday, December 21, so the LCN can distribute the items to those in need prior to Christmas.
